Might just have lost everything

I’m starting to panic. I didn’t know I was writing inside a Tutorial, and much, much worse, even if I could/should have known, I did not know that it would all be lost when I upgraded to a newer version. Fortunately we were able to get the old version out of the trash.

However, this morning, a few months after that incident, I opened Scrivener to find the same condition - everything is gone, and this time without going out and getting an upgrade (unless I did it in my sleep - after the first incident I’m quite happy without any more upgrades). Now everything is gone and worse yet, Scrivener does not seem to be backing up on my backup drive automatically like all my other files. So this time it is possible I truly have lost everything.

Please contact me and help me sleep tonight - I’ve got hundreds of pages of three books I’m writing in parallel that all just have been flushed by this software. Won’t panic, curse, and go ballistic yet, but inside I already am.

I wish I could help you with your lost work, but the more techie-side of things eludes me :frowning: I do suggest that you post this problem in the ‘Technical Support’ forum though. Far more people will see it there, rather then here, and no doubt someone will be able to offer you advice on how to go about retrieving your lost work. I gather the first advice in these instances is ‘Do Not Empty Your Trash Folder’, but I’m guessing you’re already aware of that.

Good luck,
Sarah

Regardless of where you choose to post, pick a thread and stick with it. As they say, when you’re lost in the woods, stay put.
