Missing a Normal Style

In the style list a Normal style, with a default font, font size and attributes would be… Normal.

No, it wouldn’t, because styles are only meant for special cases of text, clearly deviating from the main text, and which you need to handle in a special way in Compile. There is not meant to be any connection between what the text looks like in the Editor, while you are writing, and the final output you get after having Compiled the text to whatever final output you want to output it to.
