Modernization

It seems ill-fitting to me that the “biggest software advance for writers since the word processor” has a dictionary that apparently hasn’t been updated since the '90s. I have to go through every page I write and click “Learn Spelling” on ten different very real words in my manuscript - words Microsoft Word or ios have no problem identifying.

I generally get an outdated, Windows XP vibe from the Windows version of Scrivener, in functionality and aesthetics, even in the latest update. Is there a modernized redesign in the works?

Yes, Windows v3 is in beta. Head on over to the beta forum and check it out.

Best,
Jim

Nice! I downloaded it and it is a definite improvement. The spellcheck doesn’t seem to have been updated, however. A few words which Scrivener still doesn’t recognize:

neuroscience
sapiens
millennia
20th-century
Epicureanism
transcranial

Also, if the company is open to working with a designer to take the visual design to the next level, let me know. Sample of my work:
