Occasionally, I need to refer to a footnote created earlier in my text. How is that done? Word processors like Nisus Writer Pro have an easy way to do it, but I haven’t yet found if it is possible in Scriv and how.

Word can do it by using named references, but I’m not aware of a way to refer to an unnamed footnote more than once.
FWIW, my solution to this problem in Scrivener is essentially a manual version of Word’s named fields. I use placeholder text in place of the reference number, then go through and replace the text with numbers at the end.
