Most bluetooth keyboards allow for shortcuts in Scrivener, some MIGHT not

I had not noticed, but I will check and report back.

I haven’t compiled a complete list, but all the keyboard shortcuts I regularly use (formatting, text selection, cursor navigation, inline annotations & footnotes, and a few others) all work handsomely with the BrydgeAir keyboard.

Mark Text using shift-alt-Arrow does not seem to work on my Perixx 805L II folding keyboard.

Alt-Arrow works to navigate word to word, and shift-Arrow works to select text character by character, but when I press shift-Alt-Arrow, nothing happens.

But due to the price and perfect form factor of the Periixx, I guess I’ll get over it. 8)

Just spotted this old post when looking for info about the Brydge, which my SO is considering for when she buys the allegedly imminent 12.9" iPad Pro v. 2.0. I read some Amazon reviews that mentioned gradual failure to connect via Bluetooth. Anyone having any problems like that? Any other advice about whether to try it out?

Just to stay on topic, I’ll add that the BT keyboard I use with my 9.7" pro, the Logitech keys to go, appears to work with all iOS shortcuts in Scrivener. I also have the old Apple wireless keyboard , which I use with my Mac, but haven’t tried that with Scrivener in iOS in many moons. When I did try it, early on, I remember that the fn key caused the emoji keyboard to pop up in all apps. I like the keys to go better for mobile Scrivening anyway, so I haven’t tried the Apple board again.

** Update: I’ve been working on the iPad Pro much more at home of late, so I rarely need the Keys-to-go’s extreme thinness and quietness. I noticed that heavy use of the flat Logitech would produce some slight but worrisome wrist pain, so now I reserve it for only when I’m away from home, like at a library (where its quietness is much appreciated) or cafe, and not planning on extensive typing.

Consequently, I have switched back to the old Apple Wireless Keyboard, either with Incase Origami stand if I’m in a chair or couch (with a lap desk), or, if at my desk, mounted up on a stand that brings the iPad closer to ergonomically superior eye level. So far, I haven’t noticed any Scrivener shortcuts that failed to work. The emoji thing does happen when I hit the fn key (like for forward delete) but it just requires an extra tap on that key to return it to the regular keyboard.

And it’s a joy to be back on such a great writing keyboard again! If you can find one (Apple discontinued it some years back and replaced with the Magic Keyboard), I highly recommend it for iPad Scrivening. The Origami has also been discontinued but another company makes what appears to be an inexpensive knockoff of it, available very cheap on Amazon. With Scrivener for iOS, the ipad Pro, and the Apple Wireless Keyboard, I really have all I need for practically all my writing. If I do wind up traveling for a long enough period that I anticipate heavy keyboard use with my IPP, I’ll bring the Apple keyboard, incased in the Origami, which functions as a keyboard cover / protector as well as an iPad stand.
