moving document text to notes, en masse?

Does anyone have a way to do this?

When I’m writing a script, due to Scrivener’s superlative chunking up abilities, I write a prose version of each scene, and then do a script formatted version. This means moving the prose to the Notes box, or creating a subdocument for each scene, which becomes the script.

At the moment, I cut and paste each chunk of prose as I go. But is there a way of doing this en masse, for instance by choosing a folder and saying ‘move everything in the documents in this folder to the notes for that document’.

Just wondering, as I’m bone idle, and procrastinating.

There’s no way of doing this, no. You could probably write a script to get rid of all occurrences of “_notes” from the RTFD files inside the project package, although this would only work if you want to do it for all notes in the project and there isn’t any text already associated with documents that have notes associated with them. (The main text gets saved as 3.rtfd, 4.rtfd etc, while notes get saved as 3_notes.rtfd, 4_notes.rtfd etc.)

Keith

Thanks for the reply Keith. Ah well, I guess I’ll have to stick with the grinding hard labour of pressing cmd-x, clicking, and cmd-c a few times. Life is hell.
