Hi, I’m new to Scrivener (since last week when the App Store had a sale price on it) and fairly new to Mac (Nov 2013, but I love it already and won’t ever go back if I can help it). I’ve been lurking on your forum for a few months now, either trying to talk myself into buying Scrivener or not buying it, and learning a lot in the process. Last week, the sale price won me over, along with all the praise I’ve found for the software, and here I am.
Now for the bad part - I’m probably one of the most computer-illiterate people to ever think they can master Scrivener, but I’m also one of the most stubborn. The term “learning curve” is a 90° situation, in my case - straight up. I sat down some days ago, late in the evening, to go through the Interactive Tutorial, and I caught on well to some basics, but down toward the end of the section on the Inspector, my eyes glazed over and my brain nearly exploded. Up until then, I made every move the instructions directed me to, and therein lies my problem. I opened the Tutorial again this morning, thinking to go over it again from the start, but some of the moves I made last time have rearranged things, and it doesn’t quite make sense to me anymore. I won’t bore you (if I haven’t already) with exactly what happened and where; my main question is - is there a way to reset the Tutorial so that I could start fresh? Please keep in mind that the answer has to be extremely simple and “dumbed down” for me to understand it.
If anyone can help me with this, I’ll be eternally grateful , and I’ll have a Blue Moon in your honor next time I’m out.

P.S. If I’ve posted this in the wrong section, please point me in the right direction. Thanks.
I don’t know the answer to your main Q but one thing I would suggest is that once you have made it half way through the IT, start a project to play with and put in five or ten documents. That’s the best way to actually learn imho. I assume you are also watching the excellent videos too.
Hi and welcome! To reset the tutorial, you can just trash the current project and create a new one. Scrivener projects, including the tutorial, are just files on your machine saved wherever you choose when first creating it. If you don’t remember where you saved it, using Spotlight (the magnifying glass in the top right of your Mac’s menu bar) to look for the project name or for all “.scriv” files will probably turn it up.
In this case, you could also find it easily by opening the project in Scrivener and then Ctrl-clicking on the Scrivener document icon in the title bar, to the left of the project name. That will show you the file path to the project, e.g.
ProjectName.scriv
Documents
YourUserName
Users
Macintosh HD
Select the folder just below the Scrivener project name in the list and that folder will open in Finder with the project file selected. Close the project in Scrivener, then just move the project file from Finder to the Trash.
Back in Scrivener, select the Interactive Tutorial again from the Project Templates window and it will prompt to you to save a new copy. That will open with everything reset, and you can click in the Binder to start with Step 5: The Inspector to pick up where you left off.
