new iOS version won't recognise existing file

I just got a new iPad and was excited to see there is now an iOS version of Scrivener.
But I can’t figure out how to open an existing file in it.
I’m about half way through my PhD thesis which lives in an OSX version on dropbox.
When I try to open through Scrivener on my iPad it sees the file: /PHD sept 2016 draft.scriv but its greyed out and won’t open.
I’ve also tried to Open in Scrivener from dropbox, but that doesn’t work either.
Running version 2.8 on Mac iOS and i can’t figure out where the version number is in new iPad version (downloaded yesterday 22 nov 2016).

Can anybody help please? ta

Hi,

You need to link iOS Scrivener to DropBox, and then tell it the name of the DropBox folder that will contain the projects you wish to edit in iOS.

Have you done that?

If not, see the Syncing section in the iOS tutorial, page 26, for instructions on how to do it.

Tutorial is here: https://www.literatureandlatte.com/support.php#Scrivener_iOS

Let me know if that fixes it for you.

By the way, all files in that DropBox folder will be synced to your iDevice - you won’t be able to see them, but they will be there taking up space - so you should only keep the projects you are actively working in that folder.

Hope that helps,
Jim
