New preferences and project settings

With a few minutes on hand before I have to go and do that which I’m paid to do, I just thought I’d say how much I like the new, revised preferences and project settings systems. Very clear and straightforward in my opinion. So many congratulations, Keith, and to anyone who made any input or suggestions towards the changes.

Thanks for your hard work.

I agree. It’s a huge step forward and much easier now work with the preferences.

Phew! Great, glad to hear you like them. It took weeks of sweating over what went where and looking at various applications to see how we could fit so many options in a more easy-to-use system. I’m sure there are plenty of improvements that can still be made, but it’s good to hear 2.5’s preferences are heading in the right direction.

Thanks!

All the best,
Keith

I just opened Preferences for the first time in months, and I am elated! I honestly had no idea you’d gone ahead and done this — in fact, Prefs are so intuitive and well-organized now, it took me a minute to realize they’d been changed. I found what I was looking for so easily I didn’t have time to register the difference, and actually did a computer double-take — closed the window, thought, “wait, something’s different,” and reopened it. I don’t have a single complaint (so far).

Thanks, Keith! I’m sure it was hard work, but you seem to have made all the right choices. Love it!

Update seconds later: New Project Settings?! Holy shit!

Thanks! Preferences have been one of the most oft complained about areas of Scrivener, so for 2.5 I figured I’d sit down and redesign them. Glad people are finding them easier now! And the Project Settings just consolidate a few features that were scattered around and really belonged in one place.

Thanks and all the best,
Keith

I’ve been playing with the latest beta for a while now, and have to agree. A great improvement. I hope Lee is able to adopt this layout soon, for the sake of all those poor WinScriv users.

BTW, we’re all talking about the beta (Build 24052) release, right?
