Open a new project, “Blank” template, saving it when prompted. Arrive at the initial “Show Text View” presentation for Draft/Untitled.
Paste in a line of text copied elsewhere. Upon pasting, the first line indent disappears, leaving the first line – where the text was just pasted – with its left margin flush left.
If you hit enter, this lack of first line indentation carries forward to the subsequent paragraph.
Use control-Z / Undo to undo your data entry. Upon undoing that initial paste operation, the first line left indent reappears, as shown by the markers in the ruler.
