New User Licensing Issues and Option Dialog Issues

Hi,

So I just bought a copy on Scrivener for Windows and installed the latest version 1.9.16.0 on a windows 10 machine (version 1903) . Upon opening it asks for my license key and email which i enter and click to activate. It then tells me it has successfully activated but it remains in trial mode and brings up a buy/ activate dialog when ever you open. If i try to activate again the same happens.

I manually added a windows firewall exception in case that was blocking the request, but it made not difference (i’m not running any third party AV or firewalls). Also, when I change any settings in the options dialog they do not save. I cannot link in my citation manager or change any default settings at present which is frustrating.

Any help would be appreciated,

Regards,

Richard.

So after messing around with the firewall, enabling TLS 1.2 as default in the registry which had no effect. It turns out a simple uninstall and reinstall was all that was required. Not sure what didn’t install correctly the first time, but it all seems to be activated and working correctly now.

I now need to unpick all the hacks I make trying to find out the issue…

Regards,

Richard.
