Next Paid Release - Binder Icon Size

Hi Keith, Keith, the wonderful Keith!

I’m calling you that, of course, because I want something :stuck_out_tongue:

I’ve notice quite a bit of chat on the wish list forum about the ability to change icon size in the binder. I use them a lot, so that from a quick glance I can see which chapters are written from whose viewpoint. At the moment, they’re too small for a quick glance.

I saw in one post that they are going to be changeable in the next paid update… is that definite?

Do you have an eta for the next paid Scrivener release? I’ll be emptying my pockets for it!

Thanks! And loving Scrivener as always.

Hi Gilly,

Sorry (especially after the flattery  ), I don’t know where you read that, but there are definitely no plans to make the icons resizable in the next release. They’ll be the same size as they are now, which is the standard size for source list controls.

No news on the next major release yet, but stay tuned.

Thanks for the kind words!

All the best,
Keith

Ahh, and I’d heard that flattery will get you everywhere!

I read it here and got all hopeful!

Like this user, I have a big monitor, high resolution and my icons are dots, I can’t see them very well but refer to them a lot. It’s a shame that they can’t change size when you increase the text size.

I know, I know, you have many more important issues to work on than icons… but if you ever find yourself suffering from insomnia and wanting to work on Scrivener icons instead of counting sheep … :stuck_out_tongue:

Have a lovely day Keith!

YES PLEASE!!!

The icons are tiny, even when I import my own. They are so small as to be barely useful. Perhaps some prefer this, but I wish that either they increased proportionally along with the Binder font, OR that I could select the icon size as a preference (small, medium, large)

They might grow a couple of pixels in the next release, we’ll see, but they definitely won’t be resizable. That isn’t really possible - we’d need many versions of the same icons, which is a little beyond our resources, and it wouldn’t work with icons you brought in yourself anyway, because you can’t resize PNG and JPG files without a serious loss in quality, so it would look horrible.

All the best,
Keith
