cannot get to the files that the ios/mac version has stored - if i look on dropbox.com the folder is there, but unlike other folders in there it does not have the icon of a jigsaw puzzle - the other apps in that folder do, and they appear to windows explorer
what gives? why are the files invisible to windows?

Are you able to see a Dropbox folder within Windows at all? If not, make sure your Windows computer is authorized on your Dropbox account.

Hi Katherine, I solved my problem.
I needed to update my dropbox client on windows 8 to the latest version. after that it started syncing files under /app/scrivener - once it was done, I was able to browse to and open the files in windows scriv.
posting the solution here so that others who run into it can do the same thing
