No spell check window

There must be a ridiculously easy answer to this, but when I start the spell check it goes to the first misspelled word, highlights it and doesn’t do anything else. No window opens up, no choices, no “next” button. What am I missing?

Edit → Spelling and Grammar → Show Spelling and Grammar

I modified the keyboard shortcut, so to prevent confusion… ignore the green X.
