Not sure if this is a “bug,” but it bothers me that I can’t tell when I save a file in Scrivener. I wish there was some kind of visual indication (a pop-up, a scroll bar on the bottom of the screen, an asterisk disappearing next to the name of an unsaved file) to indication that the save took place. Right now I click save, wait, and then end up clicking it a few times just to make sure it actually worked.
I’m loving Scrivener so far, btw!
Not on the project but just my two pence: I think it’s Scrivener’s auto-save feature. It saves on its own two seconds after you’re done typing - if you watch the title bar while typing, there is an asterisk when your work is unsaved, but it’s very rarely there due to the running save feature. You can change the time delay, I think, if you want to test this.
I assume you mean like the bar that flits across the bottom of some word processors when saving, like OpenOffice.
I didn’t even notice this, perhaps because I’m working out of a DropBox folder. So every time I save the little DropBox in my menu bar goes into update mode. I’ve been using that to curb my need to see the save visually.
And I don’t like the little bar that flits across OpenOffice, because when it autosaves, it means I can;t write during that time. There is the asterisk, and I like being able to just write, and never having to worry about just sitting there, when I have a sentence in my head, because OpenOffice decided to save in the middle of it.
Yeah, sorry-- I noticed the asterisk after I asked this question! My bad.
