I note that there have been quite a few tickets lately which note that Scrivener is 'not responding.'
Having read a few of these, I have ensured that any and all security software that might be scanning my computer has been closed. This has not fixed my issue, however.
In my experience, Scrivener enters a 'not respondent' stage only when I am switching between one program or another, with data in my clipboard, ie. I am copying text from one program and pasting it within Scrivener. Scrivener does not respond for anywhere from 30s to 2min, but then appears to work fine.
Neither the amount of text, nor the program from which I am moving appears to matter. I first noticed the problem when copying from Chrome, but I have since tested Firefox, Word, and even Notepad with no change.
I hope this helps with tracking down the source of the issue.
