Ohhhhh! Lost Files

“The document “Mother Structure_2-18-22.scrivx” is the main structure file for a project, but other required files for this project could not be found: the /Files/Data and/Settings folders are missing”
I’m hoping they’re here somewhere. Any suggestions as to how to work my search? What would the NAMES of these files be? (I do have intact older versions of this material from January, so not contemplating suicide, but a lot of work has been done between then and now).

Is the project stored with a synchronization service, such as Dropbox or iCloud?

If so, make sure that the Dropbox (or other) software is installed and running on this machine, and that the “smart sync” or similar option is disabled for the folder where the project is stored.

I’ll turn off the “smart sync.” But there should be a folder in there called “apps” and Scrivener stored my stuff in there. I have no idea where the backups are. Thanks. I’ll turn that off, but I doubt it’ll help if “apps” is missing. Is there a place in the literature where it describes how Scrivener stores and names its files?

Well, I can find zero backups from Scrivener. Obviously, I set things up badly. HOWEVER, on Scrivener on my PHONE I found an “unsynched” scrivener file and opened it. Because I failed to synch it correctly with dropbox, IT DID NOT GET LOST. I compiled all the chapters. Exported them to my Notes app in icloud. and so have an almost uptodate version of what I’ve been working on. I think it’s time to set Scrivener protocols anew. I’ll be back, because I’m still puzzled as to how to force my Scrivener phone work to synch with dropbox.
