with a version of scrivener that I was using an hour previously.
All the files are there and none are empty, but even trying to activate from the .scrivx comes up with error “Project project is incompatible with this version of Scrivener”.

Luckily the system backup contained a copy and I have done a restore from that.
Sheesh my heart is still thumping …
This happened to me when I updated to Beta 1.55. Had to scrub all traces of Scrivener and reinstall it.
Ah - but in between logging out and re-opening I did nothing …
