WTFITOMGWTFBBQAA?

Judders old bean. aaarrrgghhh!!! Old BEAN :unamused:
Ermm. You dont need to know what its all about, because (believe me), the more y know, the less yll know. Anything t`do with the winged wazzak wock, is best left to the good ol boys over there to sort out. Whacko man! Whacko!
Good night old buddy

Wock,
You can have me as a lodger if you promise to take the ice out of the Jack Daniels.

If you want it chilled (recommended) keep in fridge or serve in frozen shot glasses.

Me and my shot glasses are available any time.

Paul

Oh, I see. The old sour mash. Sorry, the old premier sour mash. Favoured tipple of a variety of ā€œMr Presidentsā€ and long deceased Mafia funded blue-eyed crooners. Don’t mind if I do Wock, old horse…er…pigeon…er…

I love snow. I think it’s beautiful. It transforms urban ugliness into a graceful glittering splendour. I’ve not lived in a place where snow has a chance to become boring or mundane - or worse, so whenever I see it I am almost more excited than my girls.

You put the bottle and the shot glasses in the snow to ā€œchillā€ā€¦

PS: I went out to my truck this morning (brrr cold) and I got MOOed at by a bunch of cows. I don’t know if I should take that as a compliment or as a sign I need to lose a few pounds…

MOOOOOOO

That’s just verbal abuse. Don’t listen to them. On the other hand, I was physically attacked by a squirrel last week. It sat in a sweet chestnut tree and threw a stick at me – remarkably anti-social, given that all I was doing was walking home from work causing no trouble to anybody.

blackbirds can be really nasty too - ever been dive bombed by a mad black feathered torpedo?

Wock, when you’re young, being moooooo-ed at makes you mad. But by the time you’re my age, walking down the road and getting a moo makes you feel like a young heifer again.

Probably better than being moue-d at.

Hugh,
Given who it was aimed at, it probably was Mooooo mouuue mooooo mouuue
At first glance, it did look like mooned at at
Mooned at by a bunch of cows! :open_mouth: doesn`t bear thinking about.

Generally speaking, the risks of mooning appear to outweigh the benefits.

Is the first literary reference to mooning to be found in Chaucer … the Miller’s Tale, I believe … or was it the Reeve’s tale in response? I think we need to know.

Regarding snow and winter: I love winter.* The way the world changes from summer to winter here in Vermont is like traveling to a new place without having to go anywhere. The sunlight changes. The forests change. The ground changes. The smell of the crisp air changes. Each snow fall creates a new world untrammelled by the footfalls of anyone else.

The cold provides a great excuse to build a cozy fire in the hearth. Christmas songs that refer to snow make sense and are almost relevant. The approach of winter makes each autumn day more splendid, makes me appreciate these days all the more.

*In the spirit of full disclosure, I must admit I wouldn’t mind if winter lasted two or three months instead of five.

One of the most beautiful Christmases I ever spent was in Vermont, with a group of actors in a big house surrounded by pine trees covered in snow. Can’t remember where exactly, but I do remember what was playing on the TV after lunch: White Christmas (whose finale is set in a hotel at a place called Pine Tree in Vermont, with the snow falling, and yes, Bing singing…)

I wonder if winter would seem less daunting if there was more than 10 hours of sun light? It is dark when I go to work and dark when I come home. No windows in the office. No smoking so no smoke breaks.

The truth, is nearly always self evident. A lie just hangs around waiting to be discovered.

Happy Fall Verm

But Windows 7 soon, surely?

That should brighten things up nicely.

We are still XP and the official stance is that we will not be going to 7 any time soon. Got to love it when bean counters make technical decisions.
