One of my projects is "stuck", can't open/edit other documents

Scrivener 1.9.16.0

Most of my projects are fine but I opened one today that hadn’t been touched in a few months and it’s stuck on a single document. This single document appears fine and I can see all the other folders/documents in the binder on the left, but nothing happens when I click on them. I can export the other folders to RTF so they seem intact but no matter what I do I can’t open or edit these other documents.

I tried rebuilding the search index randomly but it’s still very broken.

Short of exporting it all and starting again and trying to import it all I’m rather stumped. Does anyone have a clue?

You have probably locked the document.

Try View -> Editor -> Lock in Place

Well, you’re absolutely right. I didn’t even know that was a feature. I guess a little visual prompt might be useful when that’s on so I might realise I’ve done something stupid.

I might be wrong about this, but I’m fairly sure when an editor is set to Lock In Place that the header bar turns red. Something to look for, next time. 8)

I suppose that’s a good reason why I should turn the header bar on then!
