@Linda
You can get those little cleaning kits with fluid and an air duster: just brilliant for freeing up sticky keyboard keys. Do you permit Walmart to operate in Portland?

@Vic
I think Fluff’s on your computer again. Look’s like he’s trying to revert to type…

I’m not a “real” writer, since my book is still in Scrivener and about 8 notebooks. I’ve not worried about copyright since I’ve not placed any of my work in a public area yet. I would probably consider using a system like this one when I have a more complete chunk of work, but no offers to publish yet.

But since I’m not a legitimate writer, easily distracted, easily amused, and am also annoying some people, I guess I’ll just spend more time writing offline.

I suppose it’s slightly off topic… or is now… but I just went ahead and submitted my work to the copyright office online.

Relatively painless. We’ll see how it goes from here.

Anyone know a good agent who is looking for a fantasy writer?

I wish I could help you there, but I’m looking for one, too.

From what I could find here on L&L, it has been well over a decade ('09-'10) since there has been any discussion regarding the topic of filing a submission with the Copyright office, U.S. or otherwise.

I’ve been researching the idea for some time, and wonder what the relevance and/or state of affairs may be for the writers here on L&L with respect to official fillings with the pertinent office.

I’m no where near any sort of official publication, if ever … I’m merely interested in filing as a step toward documenting what progress (I’d like to think) I may have made.

As I anticipate my project could continue for some time (if I last that long), I’d be interested in hearing on how filing for copyright may have helped any writers (particularly those who posted here back in '09 or later) with their subsequent efforts to publish, when, what or however that might be.
