Good morning. Since upgrading to Scrivener 3, when I open Scrivener, it no longer opens the project I had open when I quit. I went into preferences and made sure I had the “open last project” box checked, but it didn’t make a difference. I keep my project out on Dropbox so I can access it from multiple computers. Any ideas on how I can fix this? Thanks.
PS: I have my project listed under Favorites so I can open it there without having to go find my Dropbox file.
The actual option is Preferences > General > Startup > Reopen project that were open on quit (just so there’s no confusion).
It’s working for me opening for files on Dropbox, so I’m not sure what’s happening.
This is long shot but… V3 has an option to close a project that’s been open without being used for a certain amount of time. Preferences > General > Automatic Quit > By default it’s set to 30 minutes, but you can change the time or turn it off completely.
If you’ve been leaving your projects open, then it will be closed automatically — so the ‘reopen’ setting won’t apply.
Worth checking if that’s what’s happening here?
BTW, I’ve turned off the Reopen setting, because of this – and the automatic quit is a really good way of preventing me forgetting to close the project before using it on another system.
Thank you, Brookter. Yes, “Preferences > General > Startup > Reopen project that were open on quit” is what I was referring too. I had already made sure the “Automatic Quit” function was off (I tend to wander around a lot as I think.) Apparently, this is a problem I will have to deal with as it simply doesn’t like my Dropbox file. It doesn’t affect the syncing or functionality so it’s not a killer by any means. Again, thank you for your reply.
