In the Mac version, Scrivener’s opening window resembles Pages with the layouts in the left sidebar and a button to Open Recent. I was wondering about the possibility of using an open dialog that is closer to Microsoft Office, which has a sidebar with the templates on top, and a lower pane to open recent files. If you click “Today” you get files opened today, “Last week” for the files used last week and so on. I think it’s incredibly useful.
If you’re on Lion, you could use the Finder to open your projects this way: create a saved search for Scrivener projects and arrange it by Date Opened. Even add it to your Dock if you like. On earlier versions of the OS you can do basically the same with modified date, though the display will be a little different (Lion’s does the “Today”, “Last 7 Days”, etc. like you’re describing.)
(This isn’t meant as an answer to your wishlist request, just a thought for quick access to recent projects.)
That’s a good idea. I still prefer using the opening window, but it definitely works.
