I’m writing a screenplay in script mode. When I compile and create a PDF (haven’t tried printing on actual paper yet), the title page is listed as Page 1. Is there some setting I can change?
Yes, in the Page Settings pane under Format > Compile…, if you select “Not on page 1” (to omit headers and footers from the first page), then you have the option to specify whether page counting starts on the first page. For your purposes, you need to uncheck or deselect the box marked “Count page 1”, so that the title page is not considered to be the first page of your document. The <$p> counter will then start counting on the second page of your compiled output. You can find this information in section 19.10.1 of the user manual (Windows version), available from Help > Scrivener Manual.
