I currently have a project where page numbers are in the format 1,2,3 at the top outside corner of pages. The numbering starts at the title page but doesn’t show up on the Front Matter.
I think that I might like lowercase roman at the bottom center on the Front Matter and then switch to 1,2,3 at the top outside corner at Chapter 1.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Yes, table 24.5 in the user manual (pg. 414) has the codes you can use in the Page Settings compile option pane (there is a typo however, don’t put a backslash in front of the Roman numeral code). And on the very next page, you’ll find documentation on the “First Pages” tab, which does what you’re looking for.
