Paragraph Spacing

How can I adjust Before/After Paragraph Spacing? Scrivener preserves the spacing of pasted items (unless you use Paste & Match Style, which is not useful if you have italics, bold, etc you want to preserve), but I can’t find a way to change it.

This makes for very unprofessional-looking documents, IMO.

(In Pages, you go to the Inspector, then Text > Text > Spacing)

Scrivener’s “Before Paragraph Spacing” is set to 8pts according to Pages. That’s fine by me, but I need some way to adjust the paragraph spacing of pasted text to match.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Well first of all, there is a better tool for cleaning up text which will respect italics and other inline formatting. That is the Documents/Convert/Formatting to Default Text Style. You can even tell it to not override some aspects (like alignment). That just uses the defaults that you’ve set up in the software. This works on entire documents, so you can even clean up dozens at once.

But to manually change the paragraph spacing, all of these controls are located in the line-height drop-down menu (it probably looks something like “1.0” or “1.2”) off of the Format Bar, under “Other…”, or you can use theFormat/Text/Line and Paragraph Spacing... menu command. This works on a text selection in the editor.
