PDFs within Scrivener: Accessing images added to Synopsis hides any text within Synopsis for all PDFs

USE CASE FOR ME:
I have added to Scrivener PDF articles for my research and some contain maps that I want to visually reference on my corkboard to delineate between quantitative research and qualitative research methods. The abstracts show for the qualitative as a reference and the maps I’m interested in are on the quantitative articles.

PROBLEM:
When I open my project and review my research area with PDFs of my articles:

  1. if I click on any PDFs that have an image attached to the Synopsis, it causes the text-only in the synopsis for PDFs to be hidden.
  2. I can confirm it does not ‘erase’ or delete the text because I can close out and reopen the project and click on the documents that do not contain a photo in the Synopsis and the text in the Synopsis field is there.
  3. It is only after I click on an article with a photo in the Synopsis that the behavior exhibits itself.
EDITED TO UPDATE DISCOVERY: This is not only evidencing for the PDF Synopses, but for ALL Synopses.

I accessed Console.app, but uncertain what to send from there, so this is from system.log in the timeframe I made the behavior repeat (I do see the Chrome Helper, believe this to be time I referenced your bug reporting instructions).:

I don’t think that’s a bug. You can see the synopsis or you can see an image instead, not both.

UPDATED TO ADD A DROPBOX LINK TO A SCREEN RECORDING DEMONSTRATING THE BEHAVIOR: https://www.dropbox.com/s/f6e7g4qwvfj455y/Synopsis-Issue.mov?dl=0

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm it is a bug. I am not saying that I cannot see the text simply because my article has the image for one article. What I am saying is that when I select an article with an image in the Synopsis, the image shows up on one article, all the other articles no longer exhibit their textual Synopses. From a fresh open of the project, I can confirm I will see the Synopses of the articles that have text for synopsis. Once I click on an individual article that has an image as part of its synopsis, then the other synopses for the other articles are hidden.

I understand the functionality of the Synopsis space. The image or the text can be displayed at a time for a Synopsis, but not both at the same time. So, yes, when I have the image displaying for the Synopsis, the text will not show up for that Synopsis. I think what may be happening is a function that is intended to hide the text for the singular PDF may be mistargeted and catching all PDF synopses that are not images.

I can confirm that if I have a PDF with an image and a textual Synopsis, and I select the display of text instead of the image and navigate away to another article and click back, the text does not disappear for anything. If I switch back to an image, then click an article with text Synopsis, and then click back to one with an image, the text for all disappear. So, I think a function may be covering a larger scope than intended.
