I like the feature that I can print a document quickly with “File… Print Current Document” and the option to change a few settings in “Page Setup… Options” but I’d like to have more control here: I can select “Print file name/date” but I cannot print one or the other independently, and for “date” I get the “time” as well. I know we have “Compile” for this, but i think it will be nice to have this feature.
As you say, Compile has all of this. The “Print Current Document” feature is not intended for sharing your work, but just to allow you to make quick print-outs of your text. Scrivener is entirely built around the idea that you build up your text in the Draft folder and then compile it for sharing, so that is where all the options are.
You can always just use Compile to print off the current document (choose only to compile “Current Selection” in the “Contents” pane of Compile).
