Print Preview splits last line horizontally on any page

Print Preview splits last line horizontally on any page. Also splits lines when printing. Only happens in Scrivener, happens with every file and document.

Probably the margins are the wrong size relative to the printable area of the page.

I spent some time working with that, and it doesn’t seem to be the problem.

Has nothing to do with the margin settings. I’ve even attempted to tell Scrivener to keep the paragraphs together, and it still cuts the last lines in half. Doesn’t seem to matter what I do. As a consequence, I rarely print the current document. Works much better if I compile it and print it that way.

I’m sorry, I wasn’t quite clear.

My hypothesis is that the text block, as defined by Scrivener’s margins, is slightly larger than the printable area of the page, as defined by your printer driver. And so Scrivener is trying to print in an area that is not physically accessible.

Ways to test this:

  • Make the margins bigger, thereby making the text block smaller.

  • Using the Compile command, create a PDF file and see if the problem still occurs.

  • Using the Compile command, create a Word file and see if the problem still occurs.
