Printing 2 pgs/side 8.5x11 in landscape duplex

New kid to Linux Mint stumped printing a book in a smaller size with minimum paper cutting.

Printer here has auto duplex. The goal is to print draft books (for willing volunteers) making 4 pages printed on a single sheet of 8.5 x 11 in (American Letter)
A few months back I quit using Windows and a Windows writers app that provided a printing template. What came out of the printer could be cut in half, punched and according to my Kent-born wife, “Bob’s Your Uncle”

Thinking on it, the template printed page 1 one left half, page 100 on right half. Flip the sheet of paper and find page 101 on left half and page 2 on right half.
Therefore, one cut through the printer’s output provided a book with ordered pages 1 to (for example) 200 in a smaller format.
One (perhaps you) might be thinking, “Why bother, just print 8.5 x 11 and hand 'em out.” I’m thinking that myself, just now.
