Problem loading old project in both V2 and V3

I updated to Scrivener 3 on my desktop and kept Scrivener 2 as well in the dock. I launch Scrivener 3 and use the link to open an existing project (one created in Scrivener 2) and the screen blinks and just returns me to the Projects Template dialogue box without anything else happening.
In addition, when I try to open any project in Scrivener 2 (one created in scrivener 2), I get the same results. Scrivener 2 Projects Template just reappears and no project is loading. It appears that neither application is working now on my desktop.

I can create a new project in Scrivener 3 but how do I get all my unfinished work produced in Scrivener 2 to open in the new version?

Did you try, in Scrivener 3, File > Import > Scrivener Project?

That worked. Thanks.
Where is that information located in the Scrivener User Manual?

When I open Scrivener 3, I go to "file"then “import” then “scrivener project”, but all of my scrivener version 2.8 files are greyed out and can’t be opened. Any idea what I should do?

You shouldn’t need to “import” a Scrivener 2 project, you should just be able to open it from the standard file chooser.

If you look there, and it’s still grayed out, do you still have Scrivener 2 installed on your system? It’s possible that Mac OS hasn’t re-assigned the “owner” of .scriv files.
