Problem Understanding Compiler

Hi

I’m a newbie and I use Scrivener Windows.

Please accept my apologies if this post is too long and too detailed.

I’m having a problem understanding the Compiler.

I’ve tried to follow the guides but I must be just too thick to follow them.

I will only be compiling my books and uploading them to Amazon Kindle.

I’ve set up a Test Book.

Unfortunately when I view it in Kindle it comes out like the following:

  1. The Title Page - The Text is showing on the left in Kindle rather than the centre as set-up in Scrivener. How can I fix this?

  2. Copyright Notice - The Title is printing too close to the text.I would like a 1 or 2 line gap between Chapter Heading / Title and body text. How can I do this?

  3. Sample Chapter - The Title is printing too close to the text. I would like a 1 or 2 line gap between Chapter Heading / Title and body text. How can I do this?

I hope the following screenshots will be of help.

  1. My Binder Section for the Test Book - Binder Section for My Test Book in Scrivener Windows.jpg

  2. Compile section for Contents -

  3. Compile section for Formatting -

Many thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to reply.

Kind Regards

In that last screenshot, you have the “Override text and notes formatting” box checked. If you want your compiled output to look like what you see in Scrivener’s editor, you should uncheck it.
