We’re having problems with Dropbox somehow preventing our internet connection. We’ve been working on this issue for weeks, and finally, by turning off everything that starts up and then turning them on one by one, have determined this.
On Literature and Latte’s recommendation, Dropbox is where I keep my Scrivener files so they are also available to me on our laptop. At the time, maybe two years ago, L&L said that Dropbox was the most stable of the cloud services. Is there a different cloud service I could use now to bypass this problem?

Have you sought support from Dropbox?
Dropbox is the only service supported for use with iOS Scrivener.
For sharing projects between computers (as opposed to phones and tablets), any of a variety of services will work. Best practices for using Scrivener with cloud services can be found here:

Since Dropbox is a cloud-based service, it makes no sense for it to prevent your internet connection. It is possible that your security software is preventing the Dropbox application on your computer from connecting to the Dropbox server. In any case, you should contact Dropbox and/or your security software provider for assistance, as this is not a Scrivener issue.
If Dropbox is somehow disabling or blocking the internet connection on your computer, I third the above advice: that’s really something you should get resolved with Dropbox support as that is not in any way normal and likely indicates a pretty big problem with the installation or configuration. Maybe your Dropbox client is way out of date or something. Dropbox installs some pretty deep hooks into the operating system, so it pays to always keep it upgraded, particularly after major macOS upgrades.
