Problem with Scrivener running slowly

I am using version 1.11 of Scrivener on a 12" Mac 1.5 GHz PowerPC G4 with 1.25 GB of memory that is running Leopard. When I hit 30,000 words, Scrivener started suddenly working v-e-r-y s-l-o-w-l-y and is now crashing frequently.

Has anyone else run into this? And suggested solutions?

I love this program and am going to be crushed if it turns out I can’t manage my entire work in progress in it. :frowning:

Thanks.

Steph

Leopard is not great on non-Intel hardware, especially its text system. Basically the text system in Leopard was optmised for Intel hardware - this is a known problem with Leopard. I strongly recommend against running Leopard on PPC hardware… But, that said… Could you post a crash report? Also, are the 30,000 words in one document or spread across different documents? If in one long document, I would recommend breaking it up into smaller segments - this wouldn’t normally be a problem, it is just a problem with the combination of Leopard + PPC hardware.
Thanks,
Keith
