Problem with tabs/ ruler/ page view

Hi all,

I recently updated my Scrivener to the new version, running on a Mac.

In the old version, using the “body text” setting, I was able to use the equivalent of Microsoft Word’s web view, in which text ran across the entire page.

In the new version, I can’t seem to get the software to allow the text to run across the whole page. There are very wide margins of white space when I expand my window. See attached.

Anyone know how to fix?

Thanks.

By default, Scrivener 3 now shows text in ‘Fixed width’ to limit the length of text lines. (You could do this in V2, but it wasn’t the default.) It’s only fixed in the sense of ‘maximum width shown’ – it’s not a hard end of line as you can see by reducing the width of the page.

To revert to the non-fixed behaviour, then Preferences > Appearance > Main Editor > Options and untick ‘Use Fixed Width Editor’. You may want to change the Default Editor Width as well to suit your needs.

HTH.

thanks!
