Since updating to Scrivener 3.1.5 (from 3.1.3) I had noticed a ‘problem’…
My set up is an 2017 iMac 27" running Mojave 10.14.6. I compile from MultiMarkdown to Latex and have had to stick with Mmd v.5 because of the extent to which I use .
At the beginning of a chapter, I find that instead of
\pagebreak
the following text is generated:
\texttt{\textbackslash{}newpage}\{=latex\}
Is this a known problem/feature? If not I will endeavour to make a proper bug report (but won’t waste my time if it’s already known). I have reverted to v.3.1.3 for the time being.
The modern version of Scrivener will be using modern MMD output methods internally. I’m pretty sure this is the only place where Scrivener itself inserts raw LaTeX (as opposed to configurable stuff within compile Formats—the Styles pane for instance).
It is easily avoidable however. In the Separators compile format pane, don’t use the built-in “Page Break” option, and instead use “Custom”, typing in the page break command wrapped with the old HTML comment method.
I see you give your platform as Windows, but you have posted in the Mac section, which might cause some confusion. The Windows and Mac versions are at different stages of development. However, all the information you need is available on the company website:
