I’ve stumbled upon pretty weird problem. Polish language uses several additional letters on keyboards are accessed by pressing the combination of right alt + desired letter.
Problem is that two of those letters - “ę” and “ń” don’t work because using right alt + e opens up export window, while right alt + n creates a new folder. In readme files those shortcuts are mentioned only as CTRL+ALT+E and CTRL+ALT+N, not just combos with right alt +letter alone. Is there any way to fix this or disable keyboard shortcuts? Those two letters are pretty commonly used and it’s hard to write without them
This actually brings up a much bigger issue involving the program’s ability to handle non-English characters. This isn’t even just a foreign language thing; people who write fantasy and science fiction often incorporate odd diacritics into their stories for flavor. I myself use ȧ and ś quite a lot in the novels I’m writing, and I find too often that most programs can’t handle them. How will these “foreign” characters be handled in Scrivener?
I understand that these concerns are being addressed by Lee’s team. There was an issue with dictionaries in the initial beta that has already been resolved. Please bear with us as we and try and polish (was that pun really intended? ) up these areas. Thanks.
Och, don’t take my first post as a complain  I just thought that since I stumbled into a problem I will just drop in and mention it for the sake of future improvements. I know it’s merely a beta and I love this software. I even found temporary workaround to this problem - the shortcuts don’t work in fullscreen writing, so I can just copy and paste it later on
