One thing that struck me that could be useful to have would be a programmable project calendar of some sort. I mean say you are starting on a 100,000 word book and it’s mid march and you want to work out with an average of 2000 words a day what day you should have as a finish date for the 1st draft. You would plug in your start date, estimated word count (in this example 100,000 words) and the average words per day you hope to write and the calendar would calculate what date you should be done with the 1st draft. Or maybe you know the start and end dates (like in NaNo) and your target word count or words per day and the calendar fills in the rest for you based on your inputs.
Have you tried to use the calendar of your email app (e.g. Outlook…) ?
I use it for the same need and it has the advantage to contain all the tasks/deadlines I have to handle (writing tasks but also tasks related to house, car, children, special events, friend visits and so on).
You can also program reminder.

Don’t really know how that works, but did find something that does help in a way. Just importing a nano type spreadsheet into the project gives me some of those features. It’s set up for November’s 30 days but you can change the total word count you aim for and work with it that way. Not a perfect solution but it seems to work.
