Project won't open on laptop

I’m tearing my hair out trying to figure out why my project won’t open on my laptop.
I’m syncing my files through Dropbox.

I worked on this project from my laptop for a long time, then switched to my desktop. Now I want to use my laptop since I’ll be traveling.

I’ve tried all the usual things: waiting for the files to sync on Dropbox before shutting down my desktop. Letting the files sync on my laptop before opening, etc.

If I open Dropbox (on laptop) I can see the file I saved on my desktop, but when I try to open it from within Scrivener it just disappears. I know it’s there, but it doesn’t know I’m here. :open_mouth:

This has been going on for weeks and I keep giving up. Can anyone help me out?

It’s worth reading this before using a cloud service such as Dropbox to transfer projects (if you haven’t already read it).

If having problems as you are, personally I’d zip up my project first before sending it to the cloud - that’s the most reliable way (very simple on a Mac, I’m not sure how easy it is to do this on Windows).

I’ve read this and followed the directives. Think I’ll give up on it for now. Not worth the hassle. Thanks for your reply however.
