Purchasing older versions?

So, I would love to check out and fully use Scrivener, but I would like to use the iBook G4 that I have. The issue is, it only supports version 2.5, and version 2 seems entirely unavailable to purchase. Will I still be able to fully use 2.5, or will I be out of luck once the trial period ends?

I will note that I have no other Mac computer, so sadly using version 3 is out of the question.

Unfortunately, our original license provider went out of business and no longer exists. This means that we are not able to issue pre-version 3 licenses, and even if we could, there’s no activation server for those systems to contact.

Ah, that’s a shame. I presume there’s no plans to release a free version or serial number for the older versions? (and, well, I guess I shouldn’t hope for the 30-day trial thing to simply not trigger after 30 days?)

The old (Intel) version is in fact free to use on systems older than macOS 12. However that does not extend to the old PowerPC 2.5 build, as by the time we made that change it had become impossible to even compile PowerPC software on a modern Mac. That version is thus the last there can ever be.
