Qs on using Binder to rearrange scenes

Still loving the program. I stayed up past 2 a.m. playing with it. And I’m getting much accomplished!

But I am having a bit of trouble using the Binder, and wonder if I’m missing an easy solution:

First, is there a way to create a new CHILD folder/file? So far I’ve been creating a sibling file (click on the file I want to create the new file under, then hit ‘enter’) which I then drag onto the file above it. Just wondered if there is a way to do that directly instead of in two steps.

Second, I’m having quite a bit of trouble moving a file to a new location on the same level. It seems to ‘want’ to end up dropped on top of a file instead of falling ‘between’ them. Sometimes it’ll take me three or four tries to get the file where I wanted it to go. Going ‘between’ is much easier on the corkboard, but I’m doing some major file movements and the binder is better for long-distance shifts.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Hi,

Lee’s still working on this. On the Mac version, text documents get created on the same level, but adding a text document with a folder selected places the new text document inside the folder.

Regarding the trouble with dropping items between - this is on the to-do list. The way the Mac version works is that if you hold the Alt key down, drop-on is disabled so that you can only drop between, which is really useful for accuracy. This is coming to the Windows version before release but just hasn’t been implemented yet.

Thanks,
Keith

Oh, okay, that’s fine. I can wait, I just wondered if I was overlooking an existing way of doing it.

Thanks for creating this wonderful program.
