Is there a way to have Scrivener ask if I really want to close?
Bad habit of mine to hit the X (close) button instead of the maximize button if I’m working on a problem in a story and not really looking closely at what I’m doing (I use a pen which makes this mistake easier to make. )
It immediately goes into a back up mode. Even if I cancel the backup it closes anyway

Not sure about getting a confirmation when you click X and close, but if you ensure that Tools/Options/General/ Show start panel when there are no projects open - has a tick in it; it is very quick to get back to last project open.
I have it set like that already. But thanks for mentioning “confirmation”–that’s the word I was looking for, but couldn’t come up with it.
