Hi Scrivener team,
I have started using Scrivener for a while and I must say that I love it, especially the outline features. I would like to suggest a small yet useful feature: to be able to access Recent Projects by right click on the Scrivener icon on task bars, just like MS Word, Excel.
Example: dropbox.com/s/wxo2wzi1el8w5 … 0.png?dl=0
So I hope the team could consider this small feature which will help Scrivener users to access their projects quickly and directly, especially for people who create multiple projects for organizing purposes.
Thank you.
You mean like on the Windows 7 Task bar? (Your example link doesn’t seem to be working.)
You can pin your most frequently used projects there for easy access. Just drag the .scrivx file down, you may want to rename it to something other than “project.scrivx” first.
Ok, I can do it now. So I have to pin the project itself to scrivener icon on task bar. Thanks a lot.
If you have multiple projects there’s a solution you might like better, as having every project have its own shortcut on the taskbar can take up a lot of space. If you right click on the taskbar, then go to Toolbars / New Toolbar, you can select a folder who’s name will appear on the taskbar. Depending on how cluttered your taskbar is, you will either have a list of the contents of the folder on your taskar, or >> to the right of it. There’s a spacer next to the folder name, so you can slide this left or right to determine whether the file names or >> are shown.
If you slide the spacer over so the >> are all that’s shown, clicking on the >> pops out a list of all the files in the folder. I named my folder S to keep it short, then put a shortcut for the .scrivx file for each of my Scrivener projects in the folder. Now when I click on the >> out pops the list of my projects, and I can launch the project from there. You can rename the shortcuts to anything you want. Hope this helps!
