Quick Jump to Binder Document from within Editor

If I’m in an Editor, I often want to quickly jump to a different document for Editing. The mechanism I’d prefer would be to perform an inline auto-complete search for that different document’s name). Right now, it appears I have to do:

OPT - CMD - F to get to Search, then I type my Search, then I do CTRL-OPT-CMD B to get to the binder where I select the Document, then CTRL-OPT-CMD E to get to the Editor.

I’m not sure if I’m missing something, or if this can’t be done. If it can’t be done, I think it would be nice to have as a complement to other Go To methods such as Previous/Next Document and Enclosing Group.

You can simplify it a bit…

Project Search (I think it’s ctl-opt-F BTW – opt-cmd-F is Composition Mode), search for title, ctl-opt-cmd-E will take you straight to the editor of the first document returned (no need to go back to the binder), then opt-cmd-Up or Down arrow will take you through the list without leaving the editor.

I don’t know of any other way to do it, but at least you don’t have use the stupid mouse thingy…

David

For tangents, the method I prefer is Ctrl-Cmd-G; type in a bit of the title/synopsis; DownArrow to match; Tab and then Space to load the entry in a QuickReference Panel. If you want to get to the editor with it, then you can Cmd-Opt-R from the search result list and then close the panel to get back to the Binder and do a little uparrow downarrow dance to activate the selection in the editor. So really, for both cases I prefer using the synopsis finder.
