Quick N-dash and M-dash

In some languages the character’s dialog is with quotes “” but in other languages the norm is to use M-dash (long dash) to start a dialog.

I don’t see that anywhere in the editor or in the Keyboard shortcuts. I am writing a text editor in Microsoft .NET and in my editor toolbar I added both the M-dash and the N-dash so that they user can quickly open a dialog with that if required. I find it much quicker than a key combination I am not good at because usually those that you are more likely to remember conflict with existing ones.

Windows (in general, not just Scrivener) is indeed dreadful for this sort of what should be a base requirement – I had to resort to an Autohotkeys script just to get easy access to the en and em-dash.

But in Scrivener can’t you just use the auto-correct for this? You don’t say which version of Scrivener you’re using, but in the Windows beta you can go to Tools > Corrections > Substitutions > Replace double hyphens with a em-dash, and then – will give you the full em-dash.
