For the first time today I went to open a file in quick reference window and don’t seem to be able to do so. I’ve been using Scrivener for a little over a week now to outline a screenplay and am loving it, but for some reason right clicking on a file/folder in the binder window doesn’t give me an option to detach the document into a separate window. Neither does the option appear from the windows dropdown.
Could I have disabled the feature when I set up the program somehow? Or does my version (paid) not support reference windows?
At some point in the future, L&L will release Windows Scrivener v3. (They don’t publish estimated release dates any more, so don’t even ask. )
If you upgrade to v3, you’ll get Quick Ref windows along with lots of other changes.
If you purchased Windows v1.9.xx on or after 20th November 2017, you’ll get the upgrade to v3 for free. (There will be no Windows v2, they’re skipping it to keep version #'s consistent with the Mac side.)
