[RC8] Cannot change "Search text selected background"

I wanted to change the highlight colour used when I search (the default is yellow, but I use that for notes to myself).

So (with a little help from nice Scrivener users), I located the appropriate setting, which is under Options: Appearance: Composition Mode: Colors and is called “Search text selected background” (as an aside, I think that’s a really unclear label – and there doesn’t appear to be any guide to the Options in the current manual).

However, the setting does not work in-- I just changed the default yellow to green, hit apply, did a search – yellow highlighting used. Changing the setting does not trigger the “Scrivener needs to restart” message, but I tried restarting anyway – same result.

I am using the HiDPI version and would prefer not to uninstall it and install plain RC8 to test this; so please could someone using plain RC8 test it for me?

is the setting I was looking for. Sadly, however

Try adjusting the “Find Text Selection Text” and “Find Alternate Text Selection Background”. These colors are used for the animation from the “Find” dialog.

“Search Text Selection Background” is used for results from the search collection, when the document is loaded within the editor.

We will improve the wording which is obviously confusing.

Apologies – my original post was confusing. I was referring to a project search; I want to change the way that each instance is highlighted in the search results (not the “Find” dialogue). So, I assume that would be the “Search Text Selection Background” ? In which case, it definitely cannot be customised.

This has been fixed for Project Search and will be available in RC09 when it is released.
