Is there a way to mark a file as ‘read-only’ to avoid inadvertent changes? I’m using the Windows version.

In a word, no.
There is quite a bit of information as to why this is not a feature in the forum here;
Why not have a folder called: Do not touch me. Then back it up to the cloud and make a copy on a flash drive.
Then either do a file/backup to: to that folder or a file save as to that folder?
