Record numbers

As I understand, each text new text entry has a unique number identifier (as confirmed by the prefix when you do a folder sync backup).

Is it possible to have S display that unique number on each record? It would be very useful for cross-referencing.

I don’t think that would be as useful as you’re hoping it would be. The number that is used for external folder sync is in fact just a “public number” you might say—it is only used for that one specific purpose because the actual ID number for an item is huge and would make external folder sync very ugly to work with:

I don’t know what you would need that for in terms of cross-referencing—all actual cross-referencing features inside Scrivener work off of either titles (for Markdown-based stuff) or document links—but if you do really need an item’s internal UUID, one way to get it is to select it in the binder and use the Edit ▸ Copy Special ▸ Copy Document as External Link menu command.
