Since I bought Scrivener 2 or 3 years ago, my computer has crashed 2 or 3 times. And I was unable to properly deactivate my Scrivener license during those times. Is there any way you can reset my Scrivener license, so that i can install it on my other computers should the need arise? I understand that I am entitled to 5 licenses. But I’m afraid by not properly deactivating my licenses i’ve already lost 2 or 3 licenses…
I’ve seen the developer and support staff explain license allocations like a “first in, last out” queue. If you have 5 computers licensed (computers A, B, C, D, and E – in that order), and you license a new one (F), then computer A’s license will be deleted from the servers that keep up with that kind of thing. At that point, they will have a record of computers licensed that looks like “B, C, D, E, F”. If you’re still using A, then you just enter the license on that computer again, and they throw out the record for computer B (now they have C, D, E, F, A – in that order). Eventually, one of the computers that you no longer operate is removed from their records, and you no longer have to re-enter a license until you add a newer computer.
So there’s really nothing to worry about unless you have miscounted, and are actively using Scrivener on 6* computers. Then you’ll have to buy a second license–or continually enter your license in an eternal, Sisyphean struggle against the licensing gods.

Thanks, rdale. I appreciate your efforts for taking the time to answer my query…
